THORBURN'S TERRA COTTA. A mid-early, tall, and very productive tomato variety, which also stands out for its high resistance to diseases. It has a rich history — first introduced in Thorburn’s famous seed catalog back in 1893, and since then it has remained popular among collectors and lovers of unusual tomatoes. In open ground, plants reach about 1.5 meters in height, forming strong, well-leaved bushes that look healthy and vigorous. They can carry a significant number of fruit sets without losing their ornamental appearance.
The fruits are especially attractive: round, neat, with a dense yet tender texture, not prone to cracking or rotting. Their average weight ranges from 70 to 140 g. The skin is painted in a beautiful honey-brown shade with shimmering tones, while the flesh is bright and unusual — it may be orange-green or red-purple, with an emerald-green seed gel. This coloration makes the fruits particularly eye-catching both fresh and sliced.
The flavor is remarkable: rich, fruity, with a harmonious combination of sweetness and a slight tang. It is vivid, well-balanced, and consistently scores the highest mark on the tasting scale — a solid 5 points. This variety can confidently be called both collectible and unique. It combines beauty, excellent productivity, resilience, and a rare, memorable taste. That is why in the 2019 season it became one of the most interesting and beloved varieties in our collection.
