TLACOLULA. An old American variety, named after the city of Tlacolula de Matamoros (Mexico), from where its seeds were distributed. In open ground, plants reach a height of about 1.8 m. The bush is indeterminate, requiring staking and training. The fruits weigh 150-200 g, have an elegant pear-shaped form, with pronounced ribbing. The color is bright pink. The appearance is very original and recognizable. The flesh is tender, "melon-like" in type, with internal cavities. The structure is juicy, the taste is pleasant and balanced. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption and decorative presentation due to the unusual shape of its fruits.
