TONNELET. A tall, mid-late, and productive variety of Belgian selection, created by Luc Fichot. The fruits are oval, barrel-shaped, with an average weight of 40-80 grams. They are very attractive in appearance — glossy, as if lacquered, with a unique rainbow coloration. Against the deep red background, bright golden-orange stripes and strokes create a distinctive pattern on each tomato. In open ground, the plants form strong, vigorous bushes up to 1.8 meters tall with good foliage cover, easily withstanding the load of numerous fruit clusters.
The flesh is dense, meaty, and at the same time juicy, with a balanced flavor — sweet with a light, refreshing acidity. Tomatoes are highly transportable and excellent for whole-fruit canning, pickling, and drying. We recommend this unique variety with its barrel-shaped fruits, which gave the variety its name. Thanks to their high dry matter content, the tomatoes retain their shape and rich taste even after processing. The variety is valued not only for the beauty of its fruits but also for its stable productivity and versatile culinary use. Recommended for open-field cultivation.
