TRUE COLOURS. A new variety from the renowned Canadian breeder Karen Olivier, who specializes in developing and selecting unique tomatoes for her True North series and True Colours collection. In open ground, the plants reach a height of about 1.5 meters, forming strong yet elegant bushes with characteristic thin potato-type leaves. A distinctive feature of this variety is the combination of decorative appeal and high productivity.
The fruits are large, heart-shaped, with a true “rainbow” inside. The flesh has a complex coloration: a yellow-green background with bright purple and pink streaks and spots, making each fruit unique and unforgettable. The average fruit weight ranges from 250 to 450 grams, with some specimens being even larger. In terms of texture, the tomatoes are very meaty, firm, with few seeds, yet remain juicy.
VARIETY CHARACTERISTICS:
The flavor is well-balanced: at the stage of technical ripeness, it is more purely tomato-like, rich, with a slight acidity, while fully ripe fruits become sweeter, softer, with pleasant fruity notes. This flavor range makes the variety suitable for both lovers of classic tomato taste and those who enjoy unusual aromatic nuances. In terms of yield, the variety deserves a solid 5 out of 5 – the bushes are abundantly covered with beautiful fruits that ripen well even in northern regions.
The usage is versatile: these tomatoes are excellent for fresh consumption, salads, attractive summer sandwiches, as well as for preparing original sauces and preserves. Karen Olivier’s varieties are not just tomatoes—they are true works of art, combining beauty, unique coloration, outstanding taste, and adaptation to cooler climates.
