VINCENT'S SICILIAN MONSTERS. A mid-late, vigorous variety that produces a large number of truly large fruits. In our conditions, individual tomatoes reached a weight of up to 800 grams. The fruits are pink, round, with pronounced ribs, yet without a tendency to crack. The appearance is impressive and neat at the same time. This is an old family heirloom. Since the 1970s, the variety was cultivated by Vincent Scibo of western Pennsylvania. He received the seeds from a colleague who brought them back from a trip to Sicily, Italy. From a few seeds grew a tomato with exceptional fleshiness and flavor, perfectly suited for making sauce. Vincent continued to save seeds from the largest and best fruits, gradually fixing the outstanding qualities of the variety.
The fruits are distinguished by a dense, meaty structure with a minimal amount of seeds and gel. It is thanks to this that they are excellent for slicing and are especially valued for making rich, aromatic sauces. The family describes the flavor as bright, richly tomato, with pronounced sweetness and reduced acidity. The taste is deep, balanced, classic, without excessive sharpness. The plants require space — the bushes are vigorous and continue to bear fruit actively until the very frosts. This is a variety for those who love large-fruited, meaty tomatoes with a history and a true "Italian" character. "Vincent's Sicilian Monsters" is not just a large tomato, but a heritage that passes on flavor and tradition through generations.
