VIRGINIA SURPRISE. A tall, mid-season variety with outstanding productivity and reliable fruiting even under challenging weather conditions. In open ground, plants reach about 1.7 m in height, forming strong, well-leafed, tidy bushes with sturdy stems that easily support heavy clusters of large fruit. The tomatoes are striking and bicolored, round-flat in shape, weighing 300-700 g, with some specimens growing even larger when well cared for. The skin is thin yet firm, often almost completely covered with bright blush, giving the fruit an especially festive look. Recommended for both open ground and greenhouse cultivation.
The flesh is dense and meaty, with a beautiful marbled pattern of golden tones streaked with pink and a delicate, buttery texture. The flavor is exquisite—very sweet and rich, with light fruity notes and pleasant juiciness—a true gourmet delight. The variety shows high resistance to late blight and other common tomato diseases. It tolerates temperature and humidity fluctuations well. Excellent for fresh eating, salads, juice, sauces, and pasta. According to many growers, this variety became a real discovery and one of the best of the 2022 season, consistently rewarding with abundant harvests, decorative fruits, and superb taste.
