WINNIE THE POOH (VINNI-PUKH). One of the earliest and most productive sweet pepper varieties, bred by Soviet breeders in Moldova under the leadership of Yuri Panchev between 1978 and 1981. It is characterized by high hardiness and resistance to a number of diseases, suitable for growing in open ground and greenhouses. The plants are compact, 30-40 cm tall, easy to care for, and excellent for dense planting. Fruiting is early — the first peppers ripen 105-110 days after emergence, with a uniform and abundant harvest.
The fruits weigh 100-120 g, are uniform, and have an attractive appearance. The skin is thin but strong, ensuring good transportability and long-term storage without loss of quality. The flesh is juicy, crisp, sweetish, with a pleasant taste. The fruits are rich in vitamins and retain their beneficial properties well. The variety is versatile in use — excellent for salads, canning, stuffing, and freezing, and is also valued for commercial cultivation due to its stable yield and marketability.
