AJI HABANERO. A bright and aromatic representative of the Aji pepper group, native to Peru. This variety will especially appeal to those who appreciate not only heat but also a rich citrus aroma. The plant forms a sturdy bush about 120 cm tall and, with proper care, can produce a large number of fruits. The fruits are small, approximately 4–7 cm long, with a beautiful yellow-orange color. They look bright and attractive, and as they ripen, they add vivid sunny shades to the plant. The flavor combines pronounced heat with distinctive citrus notes, making this pepper excellent for preparing sauces, marinades, seasonings, and various spicy dishes.
With a heat level of approximately 30,000–50,000 Scoville Heat Units, it belongs to the fairly hot varieties. At the same time, it is valued not only for its heat but also for its interesting aroma, which makes dishes more expressive. Approximately 85–90 days pass from germination to the ripening of the first fruits.
The variety is highly productive and capable of producing numerous fruits throughout the season. Thanks to its bright color, citrus aroma, noticeable heat, and high productivity, this pepper will be an interesting choice for a collection.
