ANGELINA'S ORANGE HEART. A mid-season, large-fruited variety producing exceptionally beautiful honey-orange heart-shaped tomatoes. Valued for its high productivity, excellent keeping quality, abundant flesh, and outstandingly sweet dessert flavor. The plant is indeterminate, vigorous, reaching up to 2.0 m in open ground. Strong, well-foliaged plants with dense, drooping leaves effectively protect the fruits from sunscald. Each truss carries 3–4 large tomatoes weighing 250–350 g, with yields consistently above average.
The fruits are very attractive, uniform, and a rich honey-orange color with a slight greenish tint near the stem that disappears as they fully ripen. Their shape ranges from elegant elongated hearts to broader heart-shaped fruits with faint ribbing near the shoulders. The skin is firm and resistant to cracking, ensuring excellent storage and long-lasting market quality. The flesh is exceptionally dense, meaty, buttery, and sugary when cut, with almost no fibrous veins. Seed cavities are very small, and there are very few seeds, so most of the fruit consists of tender, aromatic flesh.
A versatile variety, ideal for fresh salads, vegetable platters, thick juices, ketchup, sauces, and homemade tomato paste. Thanks to their elegant shape and vibrant color, the fruits make a stunning table decoration. Orange heart-shaped tomatoes are especially valued for their high carotenoid content, delicate texture, and rich dessert flavor, and Angelina's Orange Heart is truly among the finest representatives of this group.
FLAVOR
The flesh is exceptionally tender, dense, buttery, and juicy, literally melting in your mouth. The flavor is rich and classically tomato-like, with pronounced sweetness complemented by honeyed and delicate fruity notes. The perfect balance of sweetness, abundant flesh, and almost complete absence of seeds makes Angelina's Orange Heart one of the finest large orange tomatoes for fresh eating.
