ARMENIAN (ARMENIAN) — a variety from Armenia, featured in the “Seed Savers” yearbook in 1991. Large fruits, approximately 300 grams on average, with the largest reaching up to one kilogram. These are beefsteak-type tomatoes, generally round, flattened, and ribbed at the top, though some may appear slightly heart-shaped. Each cluster holds 3 to 4 fruits. The stem scar is wide and deep, and the blossom end is uneven, often with a wavy indentation.

The skin has a striking bicolor pattern — orange-yellow with red streaks. The flesh is yellow with red marbling, seed content is low, and the flavor is sweet but more pronounced than in other bicolors. A mid-season, beloved variety by many. The fruit shape is round and flattened. The plant reaches 1.5 meters in open ground, with strong stems and clusters of 3–5 fruits weighing up to 500 grams.

It is productive and bears fruit throughout the season until frost; the last fruits tend to be smaller than those from the first clusters. This is a tall, mid-season, high-yielding variety that is tolerant of high temperatures and limited watering. The fruits are large, pink-orange, beautiful, with a fairly thick skin. From late August, like many other bicolors, the fruit's color gradually turns redder inside and out.

FEATURES OF THE ARMENIAN VARIETY

Very juicy, meaty, multi-chambered, tender, buttery, sweet, and extremely flavorful. A truly unique fruit! This is a variety that should be grown simply for pleasure. In the 2018 and 2019 seasons, the fruits were smaller than in 2017, but overall yield was higher. The flavor, as always, was excellent. Once you try this variety, you'll want to keep it in your collection forever.

The yellow-orange color of the flesh indicates a high β-carotene content, which, according to doctors, helps prevent cancer and other diseases. So, yellow and orange tomatoes are not only delicious but also very healthy. The taste is unmatched — incredibly juicy and sweet even for a bicolor, with a beautiful interior and a melt-in-your-mouth unforgettable flavor! Highly recommended for all lovers of sweet tomato varieties.

Varietal mix-up: unfortunately, in some cases, the seeds you receive may contain a mix-up — when a different variety is sent instead of the one you ordered. If this happens, please let us know right away. To help us resolve the issue, provide the following details:

  • the name of the variety you ordered and which one you received instead;

  • the approximate date of purchase (month and year);

  • how exactly the variety differs.

Please note: if the mix-up is due to the variety's instability or natural segregation (especially with rare blue or variegated types), we cannot influence that. These are the results of the breeders’ work, and such cases can occur.

If the error is on our part, we will gladly offer a replacement or refund for the specific variety. Replacements are available within 6 months from the date of purchase.
