BARREL OF HONEY (BOCHKA MYODA). An indeterminate, vigorous, tall variety recommended for greenhouse cultivation. In southern regions, planting in open ground is possible; in the middle latitudes, it is better to grow under cover. The bush is strong, spreading, and requires mandatory staking to a support. It is optimal to train to 2-3 stems. It is characterized by stable high yield and good disease resistance. With proper agricultural practices, the yield reaches 5-8 kg per plant or up to 15 kg/m². It tolerates hot greenhouse conditions well and is responsive to watering and fertilizing.
The fruits are bright orange, flat-round in shape, weighing 250-400 g, with some reaching up to 400 g. They form in beautiful clusters. The skin is thin but dense, ensuring good transportability. The flesh is very dense, fleshy, buttery, and does not spread when cut. There are few seeds. The taste is balanced, sweet, with a slight acidity, reminiscent of delicate white acacia honey, without being cloying. The fruits are suitable for salads, slicing for preserving, and smaller ones for whole-fruit canning. The variety is valued for its large fruit size, high carotene content, and suitability for baby food.
