BELMONTE, Italy. A high-yielding variety. One of the undisputed favorites every season. Produces large clusters of heavy fruits weighing 400–800 g. According to many sources, fruits can be even larger. The fruits are round-heart-shaped, with fine ribbing across the surface up to the top. Yellow shoulders are typical, which fade as the fruit fully ripens. The flesh is dense and almost juice-free.
The flavor is sweet and mild, with a pleasant tang depending on the harvest time. Especially delicious when harvested slightly underripe at the end of the season for ripening indoors. Some fruits can reach up to 1 kg. Large, juicy fruits are ideal for fresh salads, sandwiches, and various dishes. They also make tasty, aromatic juices and smoothies. Shows resistance to verticillium and fusarium.
