BLUE GOLD. An impressive author's variety bred by Brad Gates in California at Wild Boar Farms and introduced to the public in 2014. The tomato is mid-season and in open ground conditions grows to about 1.2 m The plants are indeterminate, with a regular leaf type, distinguished by high and prolonged productivity, tolerate bright sun well, and are practically not prone to fruit cracking. The fruits look very decorative and unusual. They are round or heart-shaped, of the cocktail type, weighing about 60-90 g. The main color is bright yellow, while the top of the fruit is often almost completely covered with a dark blue or black anthocyanin coating.
Sometimes pinkish blushes appear on the skin, and beautiful red-yellow veins are noticeable inside. Clusters form 15-30 fruits, making the bushes especially festive during the fruiting period. The flesh is juicy, bicolored, with a pronounced sweet, rich, and fruity taste. It should be noted that the variety is not yet fully stable, so variations in fruit shape and color are possible, which, however, only adds to its collector's value. The "Blue Gold" tomato is excellent for fresh consumption, salads, and garnishing dishes, combining an original appearance and a high level of taste. Another beautiful and tasty novelty.
