BORDEAUX CRESTS. One of the most unusual and striking tomatoes in the collection, immediately attracting attention with its original coloration and exquisite fruit shape. This is a variety with a pronounced individuality, combining rich taste and rare ornamentality. The plant is medium-sized, about 1.3 meters tall. The bush is vigorous, forming neat clusters, each typically setting 6-7 large fruits. The weight of the tomatoes ranges from 250 to 600 grams, making the variety large-fruited and very impressive at harvest.
The fruit color is truly unique — a deep purple with a rich chocolate sheen, something between dark burgundy and chocolate shades. In isolated cases, plants with more red-colored fruits have appeared, indicating that the variety is not yet fully stabilized. Nevertheless, its dark burgundy-chocolate variant is the most characteristic and desirable. The fruit shape is very beautiful — an elegant elongated heart with a neatly drawn-out "nose." The tomatoes look noble and unusual. The skin is thin, almost weightless, yet sufficiently strong.
In cross-section, the fruits are practically solid, dense flesh. The seed chambers are few, with very few seeds and little juice — the variety belongs to the low-seed type. The flesh is dense, meaty, with a rich texture. The taste is expressive and deep: the sweetness is bright, rich, with a harmonious pleasant tartness. The consistency is dense, "meaty," which makes the tomato especially valuable for fresh salads, slicing, and thick sauces. The taste qualities pleasantly surprise even experienced tomato enthusiasts.
