BUTTERFLY BLACK. A mid-early tomato variety with unusual pear-shaped fruits. The plants are semi-determinate, productive, and suitable for growing under various conditions. The tomatoes weigh approximately 60–100 g and have an attractive brownish-red color. The flesh is meaty and juicy, with a rich, pleasant, and very sweet flavor.
For a good harvest, the plants are best trained to one or two stems. They require staking to a vertical support, regular removal of suckers, and pinching out the growing tip after the third or fourth flower truss. Proper training helps the plants distribute their energy more efficiently and produce a more abundant crop. The yield is approximately 2–5 kg per plant.
This variety is suitable for growing outdoors, in greenhouses, and even on balconies. Growing from seedlings is recommended. Sow the seeds from early March to mid-April in seed trays, plug trays, or cold frames. The sowing depth should be approximately 1–1.5 cm. Once the seedlings emerge and develop, prick them out, then transplant the stronger plants to their permanent growing location.
When planting, a spacing of approximately 30 × 50 cm can be used, allowing enough room for the plants to grow. For healthy development, tomatoes need a sunny location, fertile soil, and regular watering. Throughout the growing season, monitor plant growth, tie up the stems when necessary, and remove excess side shoots.
