BUZAU, France. A new variety from France. The plant grows up to 1.2 meters tall in open ground — strong and upright. It is a mid-season tomato with stunning flavor and a unique flattened bicolor shape. The skin is bright red-orange, and the interior is just as vivid. Fruits weigh between 250 and 370 grams, but the true value lies in their aroma. As soon as you slice one open, a powerful fruity fragrance fills the entire room.

The fruits look truly exotic: on a vibrant orange background, a dark blue anthocyanin blush appears, gradually shifting into deep red and finishing with soft yellow highlights. Firm, colorful, and eye-catching — these tomatoes stand out immediately.

The flavor is like a tropical fruit.

The flesh is incredibly juicy and aromatic, with a distinct fruity-spicy profile and a rich honey-candy aftertaste. It’s so sweet you’ll want to sprinkle a pinch of salt just to balance it out!

This isn’t just a tomato — it’s a dessert in a skin.
The yield is excellent. You’ll drink the juice down to the last drop — only the skin and stem remain. Inside, there are many seed chambers filled with flavorful jelly-like juice. BUZAU has made it into the top 5 sweetest fruit-flavored tomato varieties!

HOW TO GROW THE BUZAU VARIETY:

Growing sweet tomatoes involves a few key steps to ensure a good harvest of flavorful, juicy fruit. Here's how to do it:

  • Choosing a variety:

Select tomato types known for their sweetness. Look for varieties labeled as “cherry,” “bicolor,” or “dessert tomatoes” for the best flavor.

  • Preparing the soil:

Choose a sunny location. The soil should be fertile and well-drained. Enrich it with compost or organic fertilizers.

  • Sowing or transplanting seedlings:

Start seeds in pots or trays. Once the seedlings are strong enough, transplant them into open ground.

  • Supporting the plants:

Tomato plants, especially those with large fruits, need support to prevent stems from breaking. Use stakes, cages, or trellises.

  • Watering:

Water regularly, especially during flowering and fruit development. Avoid overwatering to prevent fungal diseases.

  • Feeding:

Feed your plants with tomato-specific or general-purpose fertilizers. Nutrients are essential for strong growth and fruiting.

  • Pruning and pinching:

Remove unnecessary side shoots (pinching) and lightly prune for better air circulation and energy focus on fruit development.

  • Pest and disease control:

Inspect plants regularly for signs of pests or diseases. Take action if needed to protect your crop.

  • Harvesting:

Pick the tomatoes when they are fully ripe and have reached their characteristic color.

Growing sweet tomatoes takes patience and care, but with the right attention, you’ll be rewarded with unbelievably tasty, juicy fruits that rival tropical treats.
