CHLOE × GINDY'S WEST VIRGINIA. An outstanding 2024 introduction currently undergoing stabilization. Developed by Sofia Saakova, this mid-season large-fruited bicolor combines an unusual bronze coloration, high productivity, and exceptional dessert-quality flavor. The indeterminate plant is vigorous and sturdy, reaching about 1.9 m (6.2 ft) in open ground. Each truss produces 3-4 fruits weighing 350-500 g. The first fruits may be slightly smaller, while later ones become even larger. Yields are consistently above average.
The fruits are large, flattened-round, and uniform. At full maturity, they develop an unusual bronze skin with a raspberry-colored top. Inside, the flesh is bronze with darker seed cavities, creating a striking ornamental appearance. The skin is very thin, so fully ripe fruits are best enjoyed immediately after harvest. This variety is ideal for fresh eating and salads. The large fruits are also suitable for juices, sauces, and home cooking, although its greatest value lies in its outstanding fresh flavor.
FLAVOR
The flesh is exceptionally juicy, tender, buttery, and literally melts in your mouth. The flavor is intensely sweet and well balanced, with pronounced fruity notes and a rich aroma. The tomatoes are so tender and juicy that after tasting, almost nothing remains except the skin and stem. Its extraordinary tenderness, rich aroma, and dessert-quality flavor make Chloe × Gindy's West Virginia one of the most promising modern collectible bicolor varieties.
