CÔTE DE SAINT ANDRÉ (SAINT ANDRE’S SHARE). Mid-to-late season, indeterminate, high-yielding tomato variety. A family heirloom from France, this is one of those treasured varieties passed down through generations, earning admiration for its reliability, exceptional taste, and impressive appearance. The plants are strong and vigorous with regular (non-potato) foliage. They exhibit excellent resistance to most common tomato diseases.
Plant height reaches up to 1.8 meters in open ground and exceeds 2 meters in greenhouse conditions. The bushes develop lush foliage and thick stems that support heavy crops. The fruits are true giants! Average weight ranges from 400 to 600 grams, with many even larger. In 2022, despite unfavorable weather, a record-setting fruit weighed 823 grams.
VARIETY HIGHLIGHTS
Fruits boast intense coloration both inside and out. The flesh is dense, meaty, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and contains very few seeds. The flavor is rich, well-balanced, and deeply aromatic — a classic old-fashioned tomato taste. Perfect for fresh eating, as well as for juices and salads. In terms of flavor, productivity, and looks, this variety scores top marks.
A rare, collector’s variety. It has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from experienced growers. The seeds we offer were sourced directly from Belgium. Even during challenging growing seasons — like the cool spring and dry summer of 2021 — this tomato proved its resilience and continued to produce abundantly.
