CUNEO GIANT PEAR, USA – Italy. A large-fruited Italian heirloom that has deservedly become one of the highlights of our collection. It combines outstanding productivity, an unusual ribbed shape, and the rich flavor of large red fruits. Its impressive size is especially remarkable—under favorable conditions, individual tomatoes can reach 400-500 g (14-18 oz). A mid-early indeterminate variety. In open ground, plants grow to about 1.3 m (4.3 ft), with strong stems and excellent vigor. Each cluster produces 4-5 fruits.
The plant carries heavy crops well and produces reliably throughout the season. The fruits are large, flattened pear- or truffle-shaped, with pronounced ribs on the lower half. They are bright red, firm, uniform, and highly attractive. Despite their size, they are remarkably resistant to cracking. When sliced, they reveal deep red flesh with very few cavities. The flesh is dense, meaty, slightly grainy, yet pleasantly juicy.
FLAVOR
The flavor is rich, full-bodied, and well balanced. Pleasant sweetness is complemented by refreshing acidity, creating a classic, intense tomato taste. The strong aroma and dense flesh make this variety excellent for both fresh eating and processing. Cuneo Giant Pear is a true giant with character—its huge ribbed fruits, heavy yields, and outstanding flavor make it a variety you'll want to grow year after year.
