DANIELS. A valuable heirloom variety of German origin, preserved by enthusiasts and included in the authoritative Seed Savers Yearbook in 1999. A classic representative of old varieties with outstanding taste qualities and reliable yield. The plant is tall, mid-season, with characteristic potato-leaf foliage. In open ground, it reaches about 1.5 m. The bush is sturdy, well-leafed, resilient and undemanding, easily adapting to various growing conditions. The fruits are large, pink, very attractive in appearance, weighing 250-500 g. The shape is uniform, meaty.
The internal structure is valuable: a small number of seeds, small seed chambers, minimal gel content. Thanks to this, the fruits turn out heavy, dense, and especially convenient for slicing. The flesh is meaty yet juicy and tender, without dryness. The taste is harmonious, mild, richly sweet, without sharp acidity, with a classic "old variety" tomato aroma. In terms of taste qualities, the variety confidently deserves a rating of 5 points. The variety is distinguished by very good yield, stable fruiting, and overall unpretentiousness. Suitable for both open ground and greenhouses. Ideal for fresh salads.
