FARIBO GOLDEN HEART. A mid-late, productive, and compact tomato variety. It was developed and introduced to the market in 1955 in Minnesota, USA. Since then, it has earned a reputation as a reliable and consistently fruitful variety, beloved by gardeners for its rich flavor and easy cultivation. The plant reaches a height of 80-90 cm in open ground, making it convenient to grow without the need for staking or only minimal support.
The bushes are strong, dense, and well-foliated, protecting the fruit from sunscald and creating optimal ripening conditions. Despite their compact size, the plants are vigorous and disease-resistant. The fruits, contrary to the name, are mostly round, sometimes slightly elongated. They are large — averaging 200 to 300 grams, and with good care, can grow even bigger.
TOMATO CHARACTERISTICS
The skin is smooth and firm, but not tough. Ripe fruits have a bright orange color, indicating high beta-carotene content. The flesh is dense, meaty, juicy, and nearly seedless, with no internal voids. It offers a strong aroma and rich, tangy-sweet flavor with fruity notes. The taste is complex — combining sweetness, pleasant acidity, and a lingering, well-balanced aftertaste.
These tomatoes are ideal for fresh consumption as well as for making juices, sauces, ketchups, and thick tomato pastes. The variety is suitable for both open field and greenhouse cultivation. It tolerates temperature fluctuations well and is resistant to common solanaceous diseases. Recommended for regions with a temperate climate. With proper care, it delivers a high and stable yield of large, flavorful fruits.
