GORDEY BLUE. A striking early-ripening variety that immediately attracts attention with its rich anthocyanin coloration and outstanding fruity flavor. One of the most beautiful and sweetest new additions to the collection, combining high productivity with excellent market appeal. An indeterminate variety with a strong plant reaching about 1.5 m (4.9 ft) in open ground. Each truss produces 5-7 fruits weighing 65-70 g. The variety is consistently productive and bears well throughout the season.
The fruits are round, firm, and deep red. The shoulders and much of the fruit surface are covered with a dense ink-purple anthocyanin blush, giving the tomatoes a spectacular appearance. The fruits ripen completely, resist cracking, and develop without green shoulders. The flesh is bright red, juicy, meaty, with thick walls and small seed cavities.
FLAVOR
The flavor is exceptionally sweet and well balanced, with a pronounced fruity finish and very little acidity. The flesh is tender, aromatic, and juicy, making this variety an excellent choice for fresh eating. The fruits are perfect for salads, vegetable platters, tastings, and whole-fruit canning. Gordey Blue is a striking collector's variety featuring intense anthocyanin coloration, excellent productivity, and one of the finest fruity flavors among modern tomatoes.
