HAWAIIAN PINEAPPLE. One of the largest-fruited tomato varieties. Its beauty is truly breathtaking — a masterpiece among bicolor tomatoes. Mountains of delicious fruits! We sourced the seeds from the USA, and it took us three years to find this variety. Some tomato varieties should be harvested as soon as they start ripening, because if they overripen, their flavor becomes less pleasant.
Others don’t reach their full taste potential until they are fully ripe. So, you need to find the optimal harvest time for this variety through your own experience. The plant is strong, about 1.5 meters tall, with 3–4 very large fruits per cluster, each weighing 600–700 grams. All the fruits are uniform in size and shape.
It sets fruit well and is best grown with two stems. The taste is incredibly rich, sweet, juicy, and absolutely delicious! Inside, the flesh is bright and bicolored! This is the kind of variety you’ll remember for a lifetime! Top marks for sweetness! Top marks for its ultra-vibrant flesh! Highly recommended!
HOW TO GROW BICOLOR:
Hawaiian Pineapple is a unique tomato variety with a striking bicolor appearance — a blend of yellow with red or orange tones. The variety gets its name from its visual similarity to a pineapple. Growing tips:
-
Site selection and soil preparation: Choose a sunny location, as tomatoes thrive in full sun. The soil should be fertile, well-drained, and enriched with organic matter.
-
Sowing or transplanting seedlings: Start seeds indoors or plant pre-grown seedlings. Transplant to open ground only after the danger of frost has passed.
-
Plant support: Due to the large and heavy fruits, provide strong support using stakes, trellises, or cages to prevent stem breakage.
-
Watering and fertilizing: Water regularly to maintain even moisture levels without overwatering. Use balanced fertilizers rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium for optimal growth.
-
Pruning and pinching: Remove excess shoots to shape the plant and focus its energy on fruit development.
-
Pest and disease protection: Monitor plant health regularly and take action to prevent diseases and pests. Inspect leaves and stems frequently.
-
Harvesting: Pick the fruits once they have reached full ripeness and show their characteristic bicolor appearance.
