HEART OF COMPASSION. Tall, mid-season, productive variety. Pink fruits, very beautiful, perfectly uniform, heart-shaped. Fleshy, with few seeds, sweet, and among the most delicious. The flesh is pink with a buttery texture, melting in the mouth. Taste rated 5 out of 5. The variety is highly appreciated. When fully ripe, the green shoulders disappear, and the fruits turn completely pink. Fruits are flattened pink hearts.
Crack- and spot-free, ideal for all types of processing, and store well. The bush reaches 0.8 meters in height, with 3–4 fruits per cluster, each weighing 200–300 grams. The color is rich pink, no cracks, sometimes with small green shoulders. The skin is thin, but the fruits are dense, with average shelf life. The flavor is balanced and tomato-like. Seed chambers are small and located only at the edges of the fruit, the rest is all flesh.
PINK TOMATOES:
Pink tomatoes are notable for their color, taste, traits, and growing techniques. Here are some key features of pink tomatoes:
- Color and appearance: pink tomatoes have a characteristic pink or light red color, ranging from pale pink to deep rose. Sometimes the shade may have a light orange or yellow tint.
- Taste and aroma: pink tomatoes usually have a sweet, tender, and pleasant taste. They may have a slight tang, but overall are considered sweeter and less acidic than red tomatoes.
- Size and shape: sizes and shapes can vary by variety. They can be round, flattened, heart-shaped, oval, etc., and range from small to large.
- Yield and ripening: yield depends on the variety and growing conditions. They typically ripen in the mid-season, 70–85 days after sprouting. Signs of ripeness include a color shift to pink or light red, a gentle softness when pressed, and a pleasant aroma.
- Agriculture and care: pink tomatoes require regular watering, fertilization, plant support (e.g., staking or tying up for fruit support), weeding, and preventive treatments for diseases and pests.
- Suitability for use: pink tomatoes are great fresh in salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and soups. They can also be used for sauces, pastes, jams, and canning.
