ILLINI GOLD. An early, productive variety with a sturdy plant that reaches about 1.5 m in height. The plant actively produces fruit trusses, so during the fruiting period it becomes literally covered with numerous tomatoes. Each truss usually carries 4–6 fruits. The fruits are elongated in shape, with some developing a small characteristic pointed tip. When ripe, they turn a rich orange color. The tomatoes are firm, juicy, and meaty, weighing up to 200 g. They hold their shape well and have a neat, attractive appearance.
The variety combines early maturity, abundant fruiting, attractive orange fruits, and versatile use. The variety is suitable for a wide range of uses. The firm fruits are excellent for whole-fruit canning, while the juicy flesh works well in fresh salads. Thanks to their bright orange color, they also make beautiful homemade tomato juice with a rich golden hue.
