KUMQUAT PINK OPAL. A mid-season, highly productive variety. This long-awaited stabilized line is the result of five years of dedicated breeding work by a Ukrainian breeder. One of the most striking anthocyanin tomato varieties in our collection, combining unusual coloration, outstanding productivity, and excellent flavor. Plants reach about 1 m (3.3 ft) in open ground. The bush is broad, with drooping foliage and a delicate yet sturdy structure. It produces numerous fruit clusters and bears reliably until the end of the season. Fruits develop in two attractive shapes: plum-shaped (peg-shaped) and elongated bottle-shaped.
All fruits feature a distinctive long pointed tip, smooth, firm skin, and a delicate pink color with a blue-violet anthocyanin blush on the sun-exposed side. The more sunlight the fruits receive, the more intense the anthocyanin coloration becomes, giving them an exceptionally ornamental appearance. Clusters are medium-sized, carrying 6–8 fruits weighing about 35 g each. The plant sets fruit evenly throughout its entire height without gaps. The fruits remain firmly attached, do not drop even when fully ripe, and transport very well.
The flesh is firm, juicy, and meaty with small seed cavities. There are few seeds, most of them small and often underdeveloped. The flavor is well-balanced, pleasantly sweet with a subtle spicy note and almost no acidity. The tomatoes are excellent for fresh eating, whole-fruit canning, and garnishing dishes. This variety receives our highest rating for productivity, ornamental value, and its unique fruit color. Highly recommended for collectors and lovers of unusual anthocyanin tomatoes.
