LAMBERT'S GENERAL GRANT. An old heirloom from the state of Pennsylvania (USA), known since 1869, developed as a result of many years of meticulous work by gardener Mr. Lambert. This tomato variety has become a true legend in the tomato world and is still rightly considered one of the most refined and reliable. It has won multiple first prizes at prestigious agricultural exhibitions and tomato festivals.
The plant is indeterminate (tall), forming a strong, vigorous bush with regular leaf type. Requires staking and formation into 1-2 stems. Notable for its high resistance to adverse weather conditions, making it suitable for both open ground and greenhouse cultivation. Fruits are large, round with slightly flattened shape, very attractive in appearance: glossy, rich pink color with thin but firm skin.
VARIETY CHARACTERISTICS
Average fruit weight ranges from 300 to 700 grams, though with proper care, even larger fruits are possible. The flesh is meaty, juicy, and aromatic, with a high sugar content, delicate texture, and rich, well-balanced sweet flavor. These tomatoes are perfect for fresh eating, salads, juices, and sauces.
Thanks to their density and structure, they store well and tolerate transportation. The variety stands out for its truly exceptional productivity. Even in the first year of cultivation, it can pleasantly surprise with the quantity and quality of the harvest. One of those varieties that, once tasted, is impossible to forget. It continues to captivate gardeners and tomato lovers again and again
