LENKINA, Serbia. This variety is a moderately vigorous plant with short internodes, which, despite its compact size (about 50 cm tall), produces a fantastically abundant harvest. The fruits hang from the branches, delighting the eye with their size and shape – up to 20 cm long, 7–10 cm wide, and weighing between 170 and 240 g. Regardless of ripeness, they have a beautiful sheen without the characteristic purple spots caused by anthocyanins. Unripe fruits are light green, while fully ripe fruits develop a rich red hue.
Their fleshy, sweet pulp is perfect for fresh consumption as well as for processing – including slicing into fillets. The fruit size is impressive even at the end of the season, and the stable fruit set makes this variety especially appealing to gardeners. This mid-season variety shows high yield, resistance to adverse weather conditions and diseases, making it suitable for both open ground and greenhouses. The compact plant shape makes care and harvesting easier, allowing you to enjoy a large number of big, sweet fruits with minimal effort.
