LIDIA. A mid-season, high-yielding variety of sweet pepper, combining large fruits, excellent taste qualities, and unpretentiousness in cultivation. This is a versatile variety equally well suited for fresh consumption, salads, preserves, and long-term storage. The plant is compact, 50-70 cm tall, yet it forms powerful, large fruits weighing over 360 g. Despite the relatively short bush, the variety is characterized by abundant fruiting — you can get 5-7 kg per plant in a season. Thanks to its high productivity, the bushes are laden with fruits.
The fruits are prism-shaped, large, uniform, with thick walls. The flesh is dense, meaty, and juicy. The skin is thin and practically unnoticeable even after heat treatment, which is especially valuable in cooking and canning. At technical maturity, the fruits are green or green with a slight violet moiré hue. Upon full biological ripening, they acquire a deep red color with an attractive shine. The taste of ripe fruits is sweet, harmonious, with a pleasant aroma.
The variety is unpretentious, does not require complex shaping or staking, and tolerates the load of large fruits well. The recommended planting scheme is approximately 50×20 cm, which ensures plants receive adequate nutrition and light. Among the obvious advantages of the variety are high yield, resistance to verticillium wilt, and stable results under different growing conditions. Lidia is a vigorous, large-fruited, and reliable variety of sweet pepper that will delight you with abundant harvests and excellent fruit quality.
