MICRO DWARF IRIS. An early-ripening, low-growing, determinate tomato variety originating from old East German breeding, known for its reliability and resilience. The plants are compact and strong, rarely exceeding 40 cm in height in open ground, making them ideal for small garden beds, pots, and container cultivation. Even with minimal care, the plants demonstrate exceptional productivity. A standout feature of this variety is its thick, sturdy, yet low-lying stems, which are literally covered in fruit.
The yield is so abundant that the stems often lie on the ground under the weight of the tomatoes. The fruits are small, red, weighing between 60 to 90 g, dense, and transport well while retaining their shape after harvest. Occasionally, minor cracking may appear on the skin, slightly affecting the appearance but not leading to spoilage or rot.
Tomato Highlights:
This variety is highly resistant to diseases, including complete resistance to blossom end rot. In the 2022 season, despite extreme weather conditions — drought, heavy rains, and temperature fluctuations — the plants adapted well, stayed healthy, and produced an excellent harvest. We grew over thirty bushes, and each delivered a stable and abundant yield. Even under hot sun and minimal maintenance, the plants performed impressively.
It has a pleasant, classic tomato aroma and a well-balanced flavor with both tangy and sweet notes. Perfect for canning, whole-fruit pickling, and processing into juice, paste, or sauces. The dense flesh holds up well to cooking and does not fall apart. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a reliable, low-maintenance, delicious, and high-yielding tomato. One of the favorites in our collection. Suitable for open ground and greenhouse growing.
