NAIROBI NIGHT, Kenya. An exotic African tomato variety originating from Kenya. Mid-season, semi-determinate (medium-height), and exceptionally productive. It sets fruit reliably even under unstable weather conditions. A true find for those looking for a variety that is both original and dependable with an exotic background. It has excellent disease resistance, making it a great choice for both experienced gardeners and beginners. The plant forms neat, sturdy bushes with dense, dark green, healthy foliage, showing no signs of disease.
In open ground, it reaches about 1.2 meters in height and performs well when grown in 2-3 stems. It produces clusters of 3-5 large fruits. The fruits are meaty, dense, weighing from 150 to 350 grams, slightly ribbed near the stem. Even when fully ripe, they retain firmness and do not crack. The skin color ranges from deep red to burgundy with a slight purple sheen, depending on growing conditions.
The flavor is rich, sweet, with pronounced fruity notes, a pleasant balanced acidity, and a strong aroma. The fruits are versatile: perfect for fresh salads, sauces, juice, roasting, and whole-fruit canning. According to tasting and performance trials, the variety received top marks — 5 out of 5 for yield, flavor, and appearance.
