NAPA GIANT. An impressive mid-season, indeterminate (tall) and exceptionally productive tomato variety, Napa Giant has earned recognition among growers as one of the most powerful and high-yielding types. The plant develops very sturdy, strong, and densely leafed bushes, demonstrating vigorous growth. In open ground, plant height reaches 2 meters, while in greenhouse conditions, it can grow significantly taller. This variety became one of our biggest discoveries and a true hit of the 2020 season.
It impresses not only with size but also with consistent yields, outstanding flavor, and its striking fruit appearance. The bush looks like a true wall of giant tomatoes — all fruits are large, uniform, meaty, and ripen almost simultaneously. The tomatoes are large, round-flat in shape with pronounced ribbing near the stem, pink-skinned, and have a rich, deep raspberry-pink flesh. Very meaty, multi-chambered, with a dense, melt-in-the-mouth texture.
YIELD & FLAVOR
The flavor is rich, sweet, fruity, aromatic, and without acidity. It is one of those varieties that deserve a 5+ rating — sweetness, aroma, and texture are top-level. Average fruit weight ranges from 500 to 800 grams, with many specimens reaching 1 kg or more. The maximum recorded fruit weight was 1130 g, with a listed potential of up to 1300 g (3 pounds). Amazingly, such results were achieved without irrigation, pruning, or shaping — even in a dry year!
Napa Giant is known for its remarkable adaptability and massive potential in challenging conditions. The yield is truly impressive. Even with minimal care, one plant can produce 8-10 large fruits, and even more with attentive cultivation. All tomatoes are equally large, beautiful, and marketable. Due to the large fruit size and vigorous growth, strong support and regular tying are essential — plants may break under the weight of the harvest.
It is recommended to grow in one or two stems, especially in greenhouses, to ensure good ventilation and light access. This variety is ideal for anyone wanting to grow truly giant, tasty, meaty tomatoes for fresh eating, salads, juices, or sauces. Especially appreciated by collectors, farmers, and home gardeners who aim for a stable and impressive harvest.
