NONNA ANTONINA, GRANDMA ANTONINA. An indeterminate, mid-late or late-season tomato variety of family selection from Italy. The plants are strong and vigorous, with regular-type foliage. In our open field conditions, they reached a height of 183 cm. The bushes require staking and pruning due to their strong growth and high productivity. Fruits are exceptionally large, beefsteak-type — meaty, round-flat, bright red with a glossy skin. Average weight ranges from 400 to 800 grams, with some specimens exceeding 1 kg. All tomatoes are uniform in size — the variety produces virtually no small fruits.
The flesh is dense, very juicy and sweet, with a rich tomato flavor and barely noticeable acidity. In tasting evaluations, the variety receives a top rating — 5 out of 5. Thanks to its meaty texture and low water content, it is perfect for fresh salads, tomato juice, pastes, and sauces. The full origin story of this variety is unknown, but its outstanding qualities more than make up for it. This variety is remarkably productive — with good care, it delivers a consistently high yield throughout the second half of the season. A real treasure for lovers of large and delicious tomatoes! Recommended for growing in open ground with full sun exposure.
