OUD HOLLAND (OLD HOLLAND). An American tomato variety of old Dutch origin. One of the most striking and flavorful representatives of dark-fruited tomatoes. Indeterminate, mid-season, and exceptionally productive. In open ground, the plants can reach up to 2 meters in height and require staking and pruning. The bushes are strong, well-foliated, and produce a large number of fruit clusters, ensuring stable and generous harvests even in unfavorable weather conditions.
The fruits are large, flat-round in shape, weighing between 200 and 500 g. They feature a deep dark burgundy color with a brownish hue and characteristic dark “shoulders.” These tomatoes are visually stunning, with firm, springy flesh, excellent storability, and good transport tolerance. Flavor-wise, they are exceptionally sweet, meaty, and juicy, with a rich aroma and deep aftertaste. Due to their high sugar and dry matter content, they are ideal for fresh consumption as well as for sauces and juices.
A true delicacy for gourmets and a genuine tomato flavor for connoisseurs. The plants show high resistance to major tomato diseases such as late blight, early blight, and other fungal infections. In open ground, they are almost disease-free, making the variety especially attractive for organic and small-scale farming. Seeds of this variety were purchased in the USA, in the state of New York, which confirms their authenticity and high quality. The variety adapts well to various climatic zones.
