PUSZTA KOLOSZ. A rare heirloom variety from the Transylvania region (Romania), valued for its large fruit size, rich flavor, and stable yield. It is one of the traditional varieties of this region. The plant is indeterminate, tall, reaching a height of up to 2 m. The variety is mid-season, forming a vigorous bush with good growth energy. To obtain maximum yield, cultivation with staking and training to 1-2 stems is recommended. The fruits are large, beefsteak type, round-ribbed in shape, dense and fleshy.
The coloration is classic — deep red, uniform over the entire surface. The average fruit weight reaches 600-800 g, and with good care, individual specimens can exceed 1 kg, demonstrating truly impressive sizes. The flesh is dense, juicy, with a rich texture and few seeds. The taste is deep, rich, sweet, with a bright classic tomato aroma, making the variety especially valuable for fresh consumption. It is ideal for salads, slicing, making thick sauces, and home cooking.
