RUM BABA. This is a mid-early variety with a tall-growing plant reaching about 1.5 m in height. It produces beautiful amber-colored fruits and will especially appeal to those who appreciate sweet, meaty tomatoes. The plants are suitable for growing both outdoors and in greenhouses.
The fruits are large, with an original flattened pear shape, and can weigh up to 400 g. They have a firm texture, relatively few seeds and a high dry matter content. The flesh is meaty, juicy and sugary, with a rich amber color and a pleasant sweet flavor.
These tomatoes are excellent for fresh consumption. The large fruits are ideal for salads, vegetable slices and a variety of summer dishes. Their firm flesh also makes them suitable for pickling and homemade preserves for the winter.
For good growth, the plants should be grown in a sunny location with fertile, loose soil. The tall plant will require sturdy support and timely tying. Regular watering and feeding throughout the season will help the plant produce a full crop of large, high-quality fruits.
