SANTA CRUZ CADA GIGANTE, Brazil. A very famous Brazilian tomato variety. It is characterized by strong growth vigor and powerful tree-like plants with thick, sturdy stems that remain upright even under heavy fruit set. This is a mid-early, high-yielding variety, showing stable results even under unfavorable conditions. It has strong resistance to most common tomato diseases, is almost unaffected by rot, and rarely cracks.
Plant height in open ground is about 1.5-1.7 m. The fruits are uniform, bright red "plums," weighing from 50 to 100 g. Tomatoes are very dense, meaty, with minimal juice content, which makes them ideal for whole-fruit canning and for preparing thick sauces. They are distinguished by excellent keeping quality and transportability: they store well for a long time without losing appearance or flavor.
Flavor qualities are at the highest level: rich sweet taste with a harmonious acidity, tasting score — solid 5+. Productivity is also top-rated: the variety consistently produces abundant harvests throughout the season. Usage: universal, recommended for canning, pickling, making pastes and sauces, as well as for fresh consumption.
