SGT PEPPER’S YELLOW. A mid-season, indeterminate tomato variety. The plants are slender, with thin leaves and stems, forming large compound inflorescences. The variety was obtained by crossing ‘Sgt. Pepper's’ with ‘Yellow Cookies’. Fruits are large, weighing between 150 and 400 g, mostly heart-shaped, sometimes slightly flattened. The primary color is yellow, with slight ribbing and distinctive anthocyanin “shoulders” of a purple hue. Seed cavities are small, with few seeds. Flesh is juicy, tender, and has a pronounced fruity aroma.
The taste is very sweet, almost without acidity, making the variety especially suitable for fresh consumption and salads. The ripening period is mid-season. Plant height in our conditions reached about 1.5 m, requiring support and pruning. Yield is stable, though some plants showed slight trait instability: fruits more flattened in shape or lacking anthocyanin coloration. Nevertheless, most plants exhibited stable varietal characteristics. Seeds were selected from fruits matching the varietal description and shown in the photographs.
