SINK'S STRIPED. A mid-season, medium-height variety, noted for its high productivity and consistent fruit set. This is a true family heirloom, brought to the USA by German immigrants. It belongs to the heirloom collection of the Sink Gerald family, Covington, Ohio, and was introduced in 2014 by Tatiana's Tomatobase Seeds. In open ground, plants reach about 1.3 m in height, forming strong, well-leaved bushes. Fruits are large, averaging 300-600 g, with some specimens reaching up to 900 g.
Beefsteak type — flattened at the poles, ribbed at the shoulders, with rounded or even lobed/cupped shapes, often giving the fruit a slightly irregular appearance. The variety is resistant to major adverse conditions, including fruit cracking. Fruits are round-flattened, with attractive pink-orange coloration and a soft yellow blush. Flesh is meaty, very juicy, rich pink, with small seed cavities.
Flavor quality is excellent: distinct sweetness with light fruity notes, well-balanced and harmonious taste, rated 5 out of 5. Excellent for fresh eating, salads, juice, sauces, and home canning. Thanks to its large fruits, dense flesh, and refined flavor, this variety stands among the finest tomato heirlooms.
