RAINBOW BLING. A modern variety bred by Craig LeHoullier, obtained by crossing Blues Bling and Little Lucky. This is an indeterminate mid-season beefsteak-type tomato that immediately attracts attention with its bright, "bling" coloration and rich flavor. It has become a coveted specimen in the collections of connoisseurs of rare tomatoes. The plants are tall and require staking or trellis cultivation. The bushes are vigorous, with good growth energy, forming large fruits in the mid to later parts of the season. Yield is high, especially with proper shaping and adequate nutrition.
The fruits are large, marbled, often slightly ribbed. The coloring truly lives up to the name: on the skin, one can see shimmers of yellow, green, and red colors, creating a "rainbow" effect. When cut, the flesh is also marbled — with a combination of red, yellow, and pink hues. Each fruit looks unique and very impressive when sliced. The taste is mild, sweet, fruity, well-balanced. This is an excellent variety for fresh consumption, salads, and beautiful presentation. Thanks to the juicy but dense flesh structure, the fruits are ideal for slicing and gastronomic dishes.
It is important not to confuse this variety with the well-known Big Rainbow — a classic large heirloom tomato with golden skin and a bright red core. Rainbow Bling is an independent, more modern hybrid with its own genetic basis and a unique combination of coloring. For cultivation, sowing seeds 6–8 weeks before the last frost is recommended. It is better to plant seedlings in sunny areas with fertile, well-drained soil. Reliable support for the heavy fruits and regular watering are necessary to avoid cracking. This is a true visual show in the garden bed.
