TESS BLUE GREEN. A striking mid-early American variety distinguished by its unusual combination of emerald-green shades and rich anthocyanin coloration. It is valued for its ornamental appearance, reliable productivity, and outstanding fruity flavor. The indeterminate plants are vigorous, reaching about 1.6 m (5.2 ft) in open ground. They produce large trusses of 5–7 fruits, each weighing 120–130 g. Yields are consistently above average.
The fruits are round, uniform, and smooth. Their base color combines emerald, green, and yellow shades, while the shoulders are heavily covered with deep purple anthocyanin, making every tomato unique. The fruits ripen fully without losing their ornamental appeal. Inside, the flesh is green, meaty, and very juicy, with small seed cavities filled with aromatic gel.
FLAVOR
The flavor is rich and sweet, balanced by a light refreshing acidity and pronounced fruity notes. For the best eating quality, the fruits should be harvested only when fully ripe, after developing a mustard-yellow hue. At this stage, the flesh becomes especially tender, aromatic, and dessert-like. The fruits are excellent for fresh salads, tastings, and decorative vegetable platters. This unusual green-when-ripe variety combines spectacular anthocyanin coloration, exceptional fruity flavor, and outstanding ornamental value, making it a true highlight of any tomato collection.
