TEXAS STAR, USA. This variety is the pride of the state of Texas and has been listed in the Seed Savers Yearbook since at least 1980. A very rare variety — a seasonal favorite. The fruits are golden-pink, with excellent flavor — they were almost too beautiful to eat. Like other bicolors. Fruits are flat-round, large, golden-pink at full ripeness, weighing up to 700 grams, with some reaching 1 kg or more. Mid-season, indeterminate, tall tomato variety. The tomatoes are meaty, very tasty, with fruity notes, and ideal for fresh consumption.
A productive and drought-tolerant variety. It has been renewed from old archived seed stock. The plant is moderately sprawling, about 1.5 meters tall in open ground, with 3-4 fruits per cluster weighing 400-700 g. Total yield was above average. Fruit: bright orange, flattened, with faint external red marbling and a vivid red core resembling a tie — very beautiful. Ripe fruit has low density. Flavor: mildly sweet with a pleasant acidity, juicy, sweetness rated 4+. A delicious salad tomato.
