VERSAILLES. A luxurious variety created primarily for whole-fruit canning, but also excellent for fresh consumption. Originally obtained as a hybrid, the variety is currently in the stabilization stage. In 2026, it reached the F3 generation and has not shown any segregation of traits so far. The goal in developing this line was to obtain tomatoes of the ideal size for canning jars — uniform, evenly sized, resistant to cracking and fruit drop. The plant is strong and slender, reaching about 1.7 m in height in the open field. The foliage is large and potato-leaved. This is a mid-season variety with neat, classic trusses and good productivity.
The fruits set reliably at all levels of the plant, without noticeable gaps, allowing the bush to remain productive for a long period. The tomatoes are small, weighing about 25–30 g, very uniform and dense. The flesh is meaty and high in dry matter, which helps the fruits maintain an excellent texture and even gives them a slight crunch when bitten. The flavor is sweet and rich, while the firm skin helps the fruits withstand harvesting, transportation and storage without significant loss of quality.
The variety is especially impressive when harvested in whole trusses — the fruits hold firmly and retain their attractive appearance. Thanks to their density and uniform size, the tomatoes are ideal for whole-fruit canning, do not crack and look beautiful in jars. At the same time, they are also excellent for fresh salads, appetizers and simply eating straight from the plant.
