YELLOW FIRE. Variety author – Fred Hempel. Mid-season, very beautiful variety – similar to Bella, but a bi-color. The plant reaches 1.1 m in height; stems are strong but not thick, with medium yield. The variety is mottled – on a red background, there are tiger-like fiery strokes and swirls. The riper it gets, the redder it becomes. In cross-section, the flesh has thick walls, yellow with a red core, a bright bi-color appearance.

Taste – very meaty, with little juice, sweet with a pleasant tang. Weight: 160-200 grams. High-yielding variety. Fruits are medium-sized, elongated with a pointed tip, beautifully mottled, red-orange. The flesh is meaty and juicy, with a marbled, creamy texture. I grew it in a greenhouse, looked exactly like the variety description. The plant grew over two meters tall and was very productive. It’s quite resilient, with no signs of blossom end rot. The flavor was good, though not outstanding. Interestingly, the lower trusses weren’t as tasty as the upper ones. The flavor improved later on. Maybe the lower fruits didn’t get enough sunlight.

Tasty and productive, with few seeds. In open ground, the plant reached 1.2–1.4 meters in height. It kept producing fruit right up until the frost. It stayed healthy — the leaves were clean and disease-free until the end. No blossom-end rot at all.

This year I planted one bush of this tomato variety, growing it for the first time. I trained it into 3 stems in the greenhouse, and it has already topped itself, and it's only June 4th! I noticed that most of the side shoots are actually just small flower clusters with 2-3 tomatoes, but they’re quite weak. The plant itself is strong, and the fruits will be either pepper-shaped or plum-shaped.

I really wanted this variety, and finally found it - though I sowed it late. It ripened late too, but pleasantly surprised me with its flavor, even though it matured during cool weather. And it's so beautiful! :thumb: It lacked a bit of redness and juiciness due to the cold, but was still very tasty. It’s an indeterminate variety, grown in a greenhouse with two stems, and showed decent productivity despite the late start. The fruits are pepper-shaped with varied forms, beautifully marked yellow with red stripes, meaty, and bicolor inside — weighing 150–200 grams.
