ABAKAN PINK. An old, time-tested variety that rightly ranks among the most popular and sought-after Altai tomatoes with a long fruiting period. Medium-tall, determinate, early-ripening (about 110-120 days from sowing to first harvest) and exceptionally productive, it has earned the love of gardeners worldwide for its reliability and low maintenance. In open ground plants reach 90-110 cm, and in greenhouses up to 140 cm.
The plants form sturdy, compact, well-leafed bushes that require no complicated care and only a simple stake for support. Recommended for cultivation in two stems. Despite their modest size, the bushes easily bear the weight of truly giant fruits, showing remarkable endurance and resilience. Yields reach up to 5 kg per m², rated as “excellent” (5 points). Fruits impress with their variety of shapes and large size: typically 200-300 g, often 250-600 g.
Most tomatoes have a heart-shaped, ribbed form, though some are flat-round. The color is rich pink-red; the skin is thin yet strong. The flesh is dense, meaty, and juicy with six chambers and few seeds. The flavor is rich and sweet-tart with a bright aroma—an excellent choice for fresh salads, juices, sauces, and winter preserves. The variety is truly early and offers an extended fruiting period, making it especially valuable for regions with short, cool summers.
