BEEFY RED. A stable hybrid of Big Beef × Pink Berkeley Tie Dye, created by the renowned breeder Mark McCaslin. One of the most spectacular and reliable meaty tomatoes in modern breeding. The variety is mid-season, distinguished by powerful, sturdy plants about 1.2 m tall, well-balanced and resistant to fruit load. It forms neat clusters of 4-5 large fruits weighing 200-350 g; with good care, even heavier specimens are possible. The fruits are bright red, saturated in color, with expressive golden streaking, giving them an exclusive, collectible appearance. The shape is uniform, marketable — the tomatoes look perfect, almost decorative, without cracking, without green shoulders, with a dense and smooth skin.
The flesh is dense, very meaty, moderately juicy, with small seed chambers. Even during weather fluctuations, the fruits retain their presentability and remain so until the very frosts, practically undamaged and without losing quality. The taste is rich, harmonious — sweet with a light refreshing acidity, a pronounced tomato aroma. Excellent both for fresh consumption and for salads, slicing, sandwiches, and meaty sauces. The variety is characterized by high yield, stability, and unpretentiousness, performing excellently both in open ground and in greenhouses. A true find for connoisseurs of beautiful, reliable, and tasty beefsteak tomatoes.
