BENDRIK'S PLUM YELLOW BELL. A promising new breeding line developed by the renowned Ukrainian breeder Oleksandr Bendrik, created on the basis of the legendary Bendrik's Plum. This variety inherited the most valuable qualities of its famous predecessor and the De Barao variety—exceptional productivity, remarkable vigor, excellent keeping quality, and flawless marketable fruits. The yellow-fruited line stands out with its sunny coloration, improved dessert flavor, and outstanding ornamental appeal. A mid-season indeterminate variety with vigorous growth and an extended fruiting period.
The plant produces long, heavily loaded trusses literally covered with uniform fruits. It demonstrates outstanding vigor, sets fruit reliably under a wide range of weather conditions, and delivers abundant harvests until the end of the season. Each truss carries 15-25 fruits weighing 100-150 g. All tomatoes are remarkably uniform, highly marketable, and look spectacular both on the plant and after harvest. The fruits are elongated plum-shaped with distinctive bell-like contours, smooth, firm, and rich golden-yellow in color.
The glossy skin is thin yet strong, making the fruits highly resistant to cracking, easy to transport, and capable of maintaining freshness for a long time. The tomatoes remain firmly attached to the trusses and rarely drop, allowing entire clusters to be harvested at once. The flesh is dense, meaty, very juicy, and contains very few seeds. It retains its shape after slicing and processing while remaining tender and pleasant to eat.
FLAVOR
The flavor is exceptionally harmonious, rich, and dessert-like. Natural honey sweetness dominates over a delicate fruity acidity, creating a refined and complex flavor profile. The flesh is aromatic, juicy, and literally melts in the mouth, leaving a long, pleasant finish. Owing to its outstanding flavor, this variety is equally valued for fresh eating and home cooking. The fruits are highly versatile and are excellent for salads, vegetable platters, whole-fruit canning, pickling, drying, and semi-drying.
Thanks to their dense texture, the tomatoes retain their shape after heat processing, while their brilliant golden color makes every preserve especially attractive. Bendrik's Plum Yellow Bell is a modern, high-yielding line of the legendary variety, combining spectacular multi-fruited trusses, beautiful golden fruits, excellent keeping quality, and an exceptional dessert flavor. As these new breeding lines are still undergoing final stabilization, individual plants may show slight variations in fruit shape, which is a natural characteristic of modern breeding.
