BIG BERTHA. A large-fruited, mid-early American variety. Plants grow up to 60 cm in open ground, distinguished by powerful, thick stems that provide good support for the fruits. The fruits have an elongated prismatic shape, an attractive bright red color, and hang down to the ground, making them particularly impressive. For ease of care and to prevent fruit damage, it is recommended to stake the bushes. The fruits are very large, elongated-cube-shaped, up to 20-25 cm long. The fruit weight is 150-300 g; with good watering, fruits can reach even larger sizes. The variety is distinguished by high yield, stable fruit set, and excellent taste qualities, making it an excellent choice both for fresh consumption and processing.
Resistant to major tomato diseases, adapts well to various climatic conditions, and will delight gardeners with large, juicy, and sweet fruits. The flesh is dense, juicy, sweet, with walls 10-12 mm thick. The yield is high – up to 10-12 fruits can be obtained from one bush. Relatively short (50-70 cm) but sturdy, making it suitable for greenhouses and open ground. Due to the large weight of the fruits, the bush can break, so it requires staking to a support. Ideal for stuffing, salads, freezing, and canning due to its thick-walled nature. The variety is known for its reliability and ability to yield even under unfavorable weather conditions. Undoubtedly, this is the most popular pepper in our collection.
