BUTTERWORTH'S POTATO LEAF, USA. A mid-season, tall, high-yielding indeterminate tomato variety. Notable for its strong disease resistance and consistent productivity even in open ground. Plants grow up to 1.5 meters tall. Bushes are vigorous, with sturdy stems and large, potato-type foliage — a sign of strong vitality and good development. Original seeds were sourced from the USA.
Fruiting occurs in waves, with abundant harvests. The fruits are uniform in size, mostly large — between 350 and 500 g, sometimes up to 600 g. Shape is round or slightly flattened, with light ribbing and characteristic curved or lobed shoulders. At larger sizes, slight deformation may occur, without affecting taste or market quality.
The flesh is very dense, meaty, moderately juicy, with a pink-red hue in the center. The fruits are multi-locular and contain few seeds. Flavor is outstanding: rich, very sweet, aromatic, with a pronounced tomato aftertaste. Due to its high dry matter content, this variety is perfect for fresh consumption as well as for salads, sauces, and tomato paste.
