This season, I grew Calcutta for the first time in a greenhouse. It’s an indeterminate, mid-season variety with strong, vigorous, and densely leafed plants.. best formed into 1-2 stems. The fruits are large, oval-shaped, and orange, with dense, flavorful flesh and very few seeds. Each truss set 5-6 fruits at a time, weighing around 250-280 g. Overall, a very good impression!

Following my sister’s recommendation, I grew Calcutta this year. It turned out to be an excellent variety - the best among all the orange-fruited tomatoes. In my conditions, it was an early-ripening tomato, resistant to abnormal heat.

I grew it in the middle of a bed located at the center of the greenhouse. The fruits are slightly oval and elongated, weighing 250-300 g. There were 3-4 fruits per cluster. The yield is average. The flesh is dense, with few seeds, and has an amazingly rich and dessert-like flavor. An excellent variety — productive, tasty, and beautiful. Very meaty but not dry. Almost all the harvest went to drying.

One caveat, it was the only one that occasionally suffered from blossom end rot. I will continue growing it and highly recommend it to other tomato lovers.

Grew it for the first time. The variety is very productive, beautiful, and vigorous — easily reached 2.5 meters. I regretted not topping it due to greed - it kept setting fruit all the way up to the roof.

The leaves - yes, they’re a bit annoying: extremely long. The fruits were mostly large, meaty, and plump plum-shaped. The taste is light and “diet-friendly.” The first one I tried, scooped out for seeds, seemed bland, with absolutely no acidity.

But later fruits, of various shapes, turned out to be very tasty - with just a touch of pleasant tartness.

fantastic variety, I’ll definitely grow it again! Grew well in the greenhouse with two stems. It’s a tall indeterminate, and I had to bend the stems under the roof. It produced fruit for a long time. The fruits are orange, plum-shaped, up to 300 g... meaty, very tasty, and sweet, with few seeds.

Among similar varieties I’ve grown, this one was the most productive.

Grown in a greenhouse - the plant reached nearly 2 meters, much taller than me. The fruits are elongated and orange, a very beautiful and delicious tomato! The shape is like a spearhead. Practically no seeds, just solid flesh! Everything matched the official description, except for the weight, my fruits were larger, around 300-350 grams on the upper trusses.

I compared the taste to Chukhloma, Barrel of Honey, and Ilya Muromets, and to me, it didn’t quite measure up. In terms of yield, it outperformed Ilya Muromets, but fell short of the first two. It was my first year growing it, so I’m not sure yet if it’s worth repeating.

A rare and delicious gem. The leaves are indeed narrow and drooping, and the plant is sensitive to intense sunlight, but that’s the only downside. My plant produced fruits exactly as described, shaped like a “spearhead.” A real beauty. Stayed healthy throughout the season. I’ll definitely grow it again.

I grew it with two stems. The yield was average... BUT the flavor was excellent - the best among the yellow and bicolor varieties! 😉😉
I forgot to mention, I really didn’t like the long, drooping leaves; they bothered me a bit. Still, I really liked the variety overall.

I really liked Calcutta! It’s dense, flavorful (with a touch of sweetness), almost seedless, meaty, and large, it even feels nice to hold in your hand. A very worthy variety for open ground.
